General Comments
Last week I recieved 2 Xiscos XS-B-19 air rifles, one in .177 cal. and another in .22 cal. These models are the improved Xisco's version of the XS-18. This XS model is a Chinese clone of the Gamo 220. Both models come with syn. piston seals.
My cousin brought over his Gamo 220 and I took both models apart and found the guts to be same in both models. We tested the Gamo and the XS B-19 in .177 cal. side to side. We chronyed both air guns and found that the Gamo 220 averaged 845 fps and the XS B-19 averaged 854 fps using Crosman pointed pellets 7.9 gr..
Later on I decided to test the XS B-19 in .22 cal. using Crosman Pointed pellets 14.3, the XS B-19 in .22 cal. averaged 700 fps. I then decided to try one more test, I took a piece of 3/4 inch thick Cider plywood and shot at it at a distance of 6 feet, the pellet went right thru the plywood and hit the cement wall behind. I found the pellet and upon examining it I found that the pellet (Crosman Pointed) was completely flatened out, now that is what I call real impact power.
Due to the hard shooting impacts of this air gun, stock screws did come loose fast from the air gun's vibrations. I fixed this by using blue loctite on the screws.
In my testing I found this air gun to be very light weight and comfortable to shoot. The cocking action is very smooth and the air gun is very accurate. Just like the Gamo 220, I did find the trigger pull to be a little long on the XS B-19, but after a while I got used to it and it was no problem since the trigger's action is very smooth.
We also found that the Monte Carlos type stock the XS B-19 comes with to be more handsome than the Gamo 220 stock.
All in all we did find the XS-19 to be a bargain for the price and we both agreed that the light weight XS-19 in .22 cal. would make a great hunting air gun.
Sincerely,
Eddie Ferrer
