General Comments
I shelled out quite a bit of money to get an Apple iPod of these things and I was extremely pleased with how much music I could put on it and how easy it was to do so. Then all of a sudden, with no warning at all, up comes an icon with a folder and and exclamation point on it. I asked the helpline people and they said that I needed to send it to them to get it fixed and that it was a hard drive problem. Ok, how much is that? $270! What! That's almost as much as I payed for it (this is for a 30gb model). I was very irritated and angry that after paying so much money that I had to shell out more to get it fixed.
I still wanted the luxury of having all of my songs in the palm of my hand so I thought it would be ok to spend anything under $270 to get one on e-Bay. I did this and recieved one and, oh yes, this one lasted about 30 seconds in my hand. Buyer beware, right? You can say that but this iPod was just outside the 12 month warranty and they were going to charge me the standard $270 to fix this one, also. I would assume that something that costs so much would last for a little longer than that. Ipods suck and have gone through 2 of them which now have the status of a very expensive paper weight. If they are disposable, they shouldn't cost too much. If they want to charge so much for them, don't make them suck.
