Good Points

Good clear sound clear trebel and bass. good volume loudness. Ok looks, fast up down volume, rotary volume control.


Bad Points

No bass & trebel control, slow actions(change disk)ok looks, some functions hard to use, EXTREMLY UNRELIABLE.


General Comments

I have had the PHILIPS FW-D596/30 for about a month. I purchased it for $600 at a Myers.

This system has very good sound quality and loudness. I like the feature of the Db meter.

After about a day I realised that it would not change disks using the remote. I got a new one and this one has the same problem aswell as the system whistling sometimes and not making any sound from the CD. The skip, stop and 1-9 key pad does not work(sometimes) on the remote control.

THE BAD PART I was talking to somebody else that has this system and he said that he has had the same problems and also his AUX doesnt work. I am beginning to think the model is a flop.

I am now trying to do something about it and get it sorted. I'm unhappy as this is my 4th stereo in 2 years
