Good Points

Efficient, no power required.


Bad Points

Easy to break control knob. Hot water inlet not robust.


General Comments

Croydex H2O Hydro-Powered Mixer - I installed this shower about 10 months ago. On the first attempt used cold water from tank in loft. The pressure was not sufficient, so we tried again, using cold mains supply to feed cold water inlet. The results were good and the shower performed as well as a power shower without the need for power (very good). After that someone in the house turned the knob the wrong way to turn it on (arrows point in both directions). The knob broke, but aftersales service sent me a replacement knob quickly after one phone call. But now (after about 10 months) I have a new problem. The hot water continues to flow after turning off the shower. I think that it is due to bits of grit coming from the mains and lodging in the hot water inlet valve, as when I opened it I found small bits of grit inside. After numerous attempts to turn it off, the inlet valve for the hot water does eventually close. I think that the hot water inlet needs a slightly more robust design to cope with this situation.
