Surprisingly accurate, easy to load, highest energy efficiency among all the pellets I measured, long distance hunting.
Currently available only in Spain, Portugal and USA.
Gamo Magnum .177 cal are my favourite pellets since 1996 when I discovered them. They are very accurate despite the low price. I found these pellets excellent for hunting, opposite to the airgunner's dogma that flat pellets give bigger part of their energy to the target. The cone tip of these pellets works like a wedge and I hunt with sucess rabbits and squirells with low powered old IZH-38 and Slavia guns. As an illustration - try shooting with wadcutters at eggs, let's say from 30 meters and with gamo magnums. With the flat pellets the eggs just get a hole-thru and quietly leak, instead, when hit by gamo magnums they violently explode.
Apparently the design of these pellets is very good since when I measure their weight and muzzle speed the calculation shows the highest energy among all about 20 other pellets I tested. Also I found when I shoot with them they give very pleasant sharp exaust noice, without unpleasant vibration on all my springers - Slavia, BSA Supersport .177 and .22, IZH-38, Haenel 312 and several Gamos.
Unfortunately curently their quality drops down, together with their weight - a .177 cal. pellet from 1996-1999 batches weghts on average 0.543g with very little tolerances, now it averages 0.520g with significantly bigger tolerances, the skirt gets thinner and the points are somehow getting dulled. Also, I can not find them anymore in the stores around Europe. According to www.gamo.com they are avilable only in Spain, Portugal and USA.
