MagikGuy's Review of Radica 20Q

Overall Rating

    4 stars
Good Points

- Cheap and well-worth the money
- Usually guesses the object that you are thinking of
- Can be bought via the Internet
- Make of plastic -> will not break (hopefully!)

Bad Points

- Does not always get your 'exact' word, e.g., if you thought of the word 'lorry' you could get 'fire engine' or 'school bus' instead.
- Can be scratched easily -> made of plastic.

General Comments

Radica 20Q is a computerized system that can actually read your mind! (well... not literally lol). 20Q has been designed by the company Radica: as a little gadget to convey the well-known and traditional game of '20 Questions'.

With 20Q all you have to do is think of an object in the genres of animal, vegetable, mineral, other or unknown and answer a series of 20 questions (which are sometimes baffling such as 'Does it weigh more than a microwaveable oven?'). You answer the questions with the aid of the four buttons -> 'yes', 'no', 'maybe' or 'unknown'; the 'maybe' and 'unknown' buttons are especially handy if you do not know the answers! 20Q is a very mysterious computer and somehow works out what you're thinking and even taunts you while you play! After a couple of questions 20Q will display messages such as 'You can't beat me' to try and put you off from winning!

I must admit that this little gizmo is amazing. I have only beaten it a couple of times and I have been playing for months! If 20Q does not guess your object after the end of the 20 questions, it will ask you to answer another series of 5 questions before admitting defeat. I have enjoyed playing with this gadget and will continue to do so for many more months to come!

20Q is recommended for people ages 8 and up and also requires 2 x AAA batteries (which are not included!). Furthermore 20Q is available in a variety of colours including blue, red orange and purple. 20Q can be brought from online shops such as 'Firebox' and is a bargain at £13 (£15 including P&P).
