General Comments

I visited Sal Rossa with my husband and 2 children (one was 2 on the day we travelled there and the other only 6 months).

The Accommodation
The accommodation was basic but ok. There was a small kitchenette which contained a small two ring hob, a good sized fridge with a very small freezer, a couple of cupboards, a sink (no draining board) and a few pots, pans, plates etc and cutlery. There was a kettle but the old fashioned sort that you put on the hob and takes ages! There was a small round table with four chairs. The pull out bed in the living area was ok for a small child (although my eldest ended up in bed with us every night!). The bedroom was just a small area off the rest of the room with pull door things across it. Ok but if we were with older children (teenagers) or adults it probably wouldn't work!!! The bathroom was small, basic but clean and tidy. The baths are smaller than ours although my husband still squeezed in every night! The towels were cleaned every other day and plenty supplied. The bedding was also cleaned every other day. Balcony was very small and difficult to fit more than two people on. If you have a young family and do not like loud noise, BE WARNED; at night it was very loud at the rear of the hotel (pool facing, sea facing rooms). Granted, only until about 12 but we were back before that time because of our youngest boy. The food in the hotel was basic (burger, chips OR chicken breast with peppered sauce and chips OR chicken curry rice and chips etc) but good value for money and tasty. Waiters were nice and friendly. Pool was nice and didn't have to be up super early (although I was anyway with kids) to get a sunbed. Beach was lovely although there seemed to be a lot of seaweed in it. There is a small park at the front of the hotel with consists of a two swings, a see-saw and a slide. Not the best hotel for young kids as my eldest got bored as there wasn't much for him to do.

Around and About
There are a few decent pubs/ bars to go to. There is the Sports bar which is just up past the Avis car hire place and Burger King. They do good food for a good price. Beer wasn't too bad either. They had a couple of pool tables and Eastenders and Corrie!!! Nothing really for young kids though. Big Bens is good, too. Again, nothing for kids. The best place to take young kids is straight up road from Sal Rossa. Walk up the road past the German pub on your left (forgot its name) and eventually you will come to an out door adventure area. There are trampolines, ball pools, bouncy castles, slides and little rides (which you pay separate for). You pay for the day and it's only about £3. The gates are large and the kids can't get out although obviously, you need to stay with them. The beer wasn't fantastic though. I wanted larger and lime and got and beer and wine!!! Another good place for the kids is just opposite Sal Rossa. There is a mini fair with cars and mini dodgems and things like that. There is a KFC and a Burger King in Playa De'n Bossa.
