I love the design. (Big fan of Beretta here.)
Loading feels very smooth.
Fiber-Optic Front Sight.
Extremely accurate.
Solid Feel.
I can use BB's and/or pellets.
Very Powerful.
No air leaks.
Get many shots out of a single CO2 cartridge.
Cool safety system.
Did I say it looks cool?
Long trigger pull.
Puncture screw sticks way down when loaded.
Only 6 shots.
Fixed sights.
Trigger is too loose when hammer is pulled back.
It's a little wierd that you can still pull the trigger w/ safety on.
Well, I've been shooting firearms, (rifles, pistols, shotguns, air rifles, air pistols, paintball guns, etc) for as long as I can remember. I am very knowledgeable about weapons of all sorts, so with my background briefly covered, on to the review.
Let me start off by saying that outside of my Daisy Red Ryder, I have always been a Crosman fan. This is my second Daisy ever. Previously, my CO2 pistol of choice was the Crosman 1008 Repeat Air. So, why did I decide to change? Number one, I love the Beretta design, it, and the Desert Eagle, are my favourite pistols. Second, because I have owned three 1008 Repeat Airs. They are a great gun, but over time they get weaker, and weaker, wasting more and more C02. My third 1008 was starting to die, and I've been looking at this one for a couple months, so I broke down and decided to try it.
The first thing that I noticed, after opening the package, was how smooth loading the cylinder was. It was very effortless. The second, and even more important thing I noticed, was the lack of "PSSSSST" when I cranked up the CO2 cartridge!! It sort of freaked me out; I didn't think it was actually in! Anyone who's used a 1008 before is very familiar w/ the CO2 leak that occurs when you first screw in the cartridge. And once I started shooting, I realized that #1, there wasn't CO2 bursting out of every crack in the gun, and #2, despite fixed sights, it was extremely accurate. I was shooting the pistol across my room (safety precautions observed) at a straight pen line, and hitting it dead on with every shot!
The other thing I noticed, was that with the single cartridge, I shot about 50 shots with nearly no power loss, and shot another 20 after that! The power dropped very quickly after that though, and I ceased firing. I must say, I am extremely impressed, and pleased with this pistol! There are shortcomings to it, but for the price, they can be dealt with! I prefer the $57 cost for this Daisy, than the $180 cost of the Beretta air pistol. (Although the Beretta is worth it, I just don't pay more than $80 for an air gun.)
Overall, I highly recommend this pistol, and I don't forsee myself ever going back to the Crosman 1008, which I have used exclusively for the last 7 years.
