General Comments

The Paradise Park Hotel is in the Cosmos brochure as 4* and the apartments as 3* We booked an apartment as self-catering. A few weeks after booking we were sent a letter by Cosmos to say that there was building work near the hotel but it shouldn't affect our holiday. We arrived at the hotel at 8pm and first impressions going into reception were very good. We had requested a pool view when we booked. When we got to our apartment we opened the curtains to see the view from the balcony and were horrified to find that we were looking straight into a building site! I rang reception straight away and asked to be moved but they said they couldn't move us for 4 days. The next day I saw the reps but they couldn't help and said that there was no work going on on the site anyway. 7am Monday morning and all hell broke loose with cement mixers, lorries, hammering and banging and workmen looking directly into our room. There was only a narrow walkway between our room and the site. Also no way was the apartment 3* in our opinion. It was definitely tired and badly in need of refurbishment. Definitely a poor 2*. When we eventually moved to another room with a pool view we had noise from the very busy 4 lane road alongside the hotel which wasn't mentioned in the brochure either. We didn't get much sleep. Very few apartments in this complex overlook the pool most overlook building sites or roads. There are 2 bedroom apartments on the top floor which would probably be your best bet. There was building work on 3 sides of the hotel and had been for some 2 years. Nothing was mentioned at the time of booking. They were more interested in filling the hotel than in us getting the holiday we had paid for! I certainly wouldn't choose to go to this hotel again. It didn't live up to the description in the brochure. There is a lot of building work in the part of Los Christianos were the hotel is situated anyway which doesn't make for very picturesque walks into town. We liked Los Cristianos itself especially the area closer to Playa de Las Americas as it was more mature. We didn't use the dining room or go to the evening entertainment so can't comment on these. The pools apart from the small one on the roof were very cold and not used a great deal apart from to sit around

I agree with what this person has said about there being a lot of building work in the area and it didn`t make for nice viewing when walking to the beach or town. If this person had stayed in the hotel they may have found that its quality made up for the building problems, and the food and enterainment were truly excellent! I would recommend staying in the hotel instead of the apartments, but I have heard that some of the apartments are being refurbished for next season. But I do understand some of your views and I have enjoyed reading your review. Gabby
