Christopher Paul Curtis, The Watsons Go To Birmingham - In his Newbery Honor Book, Christopher Paul Curtis writes about a family that goes to Birmingham when Byron the oldest is uncontrollable and needs some shaping up with his Grandma Sands. One of my favorite parts is when Byron is playing Nazi's Parachutes attack America and Get Shot Down over the Flint River by Captian Byron Watson and His Flamethrower of Death. It's hilarious! We recommend this book to all teens because it is a very funny and emotional book at the same time. You will never forget Kenneth, Byron, and Joetta because of their great personalities. You will experience all their adventures with them.
