If you can get a screen without a hot pixel, then the resolution of 800x480 is probably the best on the market for the price. Also read any DVD+R/RW disc brand that I gave it.
Poor quality control on the TFT screen. Had two duds in a row with 'hot pixels'
Battery pack is huge and sticks out the back - gave problems with my in car harness.
The only UK supplier I could find www.margothedog.com gave very poor service. Three faulty units in succession and no refund offered for return postage; 'not our policy' don't recommend that you use them.
The Aeso 8028 is good value for money. You get a portable dvd player with superb screen resolution; 800x480 which is better than most.
S-Video output, coaxial digital output and great compatibility with writable dvd formats.
Viewing angles were fine as was sound output from the tiny speakers.
The remote is needed for most functions as the controls on the player itself is basic.
Unfortunately the quality control at Aeso is poor. The first player had a faulty tray switch, the second and third players had 'hot pixels' with irritating orange and green bright dots to spoil the image.
Can't recomend the UK source at www.margothedog.com, did not seem able to test replacement units to check for screen faults, and refused to refund my return carriage costs when they ultimately suggested a refund instead of further exchanges. Caveat emptor.
