Fantastic characters
Enjoyably random
Intresting camera useage at times
Impressive performances from all
Too much focus on one storyline
Repitition of ideas
Green Wing's mix of offbeat and overtly random humour is a breath of fresh air for Friday night television which has gone decidly stale over the last 6 months or so. However, it is not what carries the show. The characters are what stand out the most, with impressive performances from some of Britain's up and coming comic stars, I feel that as each week goes by I am complled to see how their complex lives unravel. In terms of dark humour I have to say that it is nearly on a par with recent successes of the genre, such as Little Britain and The League of Gentlemen, although slightly lighter than the latter. Perhaps the only thing that lets it down is its increasing dependency to rely on the ever prominent "love triangle" story to carry the episode, when it is by far one of the weaker stories followed in the show but this is a minor annoyance and certainly not something that makes me enjoy the show any less. This is undeniably an alternative favourite of mine and I'm pretty sure that the characters will stay with me long after the show last airs.
