Good Points

Feature laden and flexible, capable of adapting to any light or scene if you do your part.

Bad Points

Same as every other digital camera: shutter lag time and camera shake related to light body weight and iffy shutter button.

General Comments

The Canon PowerShot A80 was my next purchase after the A20. Optics are fine: barrel distortion on WA and pincushion on tele but sharp. Noise in dark shadows can be fixed with better exposures and lower EI, so yes, although you can point and shoot, you should really get familiar with all the many delightful features that you bought. 4 megapixels is lots for the real world, 3.2 is probably optimum unless you're earning a living off the camera. The little video film feature is charming and novel. Most digi cameras have trouble with camera shake (light and shutters that are too hard to hold steady) and this one is no different, but if you put it on a tripod, take a test shot and correct composition and exposure, the camera will dazzle.
