Great Spanish food, very friendly people, great views, authentic Spanish town, not a heaving resort, historic, good beach and snorkelling, deep water.
No bad points, it was hilly but with a pair of healthy lungs and legs good exercise - wouldn't recommend it for infirm, but many elderly Spanish people at the hotel seemed to manage so maybe everyone can (within reason).
If you want an English style resort with high rise hotels, chips, beer, clubs and bars San Feliu De Guixols is not the place for you. It's a very Spanish town and the people at the Bellevue Hotel when I went was 60/50 Spanish to English. The hotel has an old fashioned charm and I would definitely recommend a trip to the Dali museum in Figueras - take the bus to girona and then the train (station in same terminus as the bus) to figueras - travel about £5 per person return and entry to museum is 9E's which also includes entrance to the jewels exhibition.
