Good Points

I've had my S7000 for about two weeks and have to say this camera is something else once you put it into manual mode it's as near to an SLR camera as you can get.

Bad Points

A little noisy with picture taking.
A little heavier than expected.
Battery life could be better.

General Comments

Still learning my way round my new S7000 and what from what I've seen so far, I like it a lot. You have so many modes to choose from that you can really experiment in different ways and under different light conditions and then being able to see your efforts and work out how to improve on it.

This camera can be tripod mounted and have a cable release fitted to minimise camera shake.

There's no automatic flash pop up as you get on some digital and 35mm camera's. The flash unit on this camera is a manual pop up flash unit which is very handy as sometime you don't want the extra light from a flash gun. Also with camera you have the hotshoe adaptor plate so that you can use another flash gun maybe usefull if it's one that has a tilting head so that you can bounce the flash from above rather than direct at your subject.

Video mode is something you can have a great deal of fun with although the bigger your memory card the longer you can record for ie the 128mb card will give you just over a minute of video which may not sound much it's not bad either, if you want more time then you should look either at 512mb cards or the 1 or 2 gb compact flash cards.

Overall my time with camera has been one of a large learning curve which continues to this day so if you're after a digital camera with scope to improve your camera and photoghraphic skills then you should take a long hard look at this one.
