Massive menu, friendly, attentive staff, lovely presentation, massive portions
Pricier than the average Chinese restaurant, awkward location
Moso Moso is a truly magnificent dining experience. Situated opposite the Contact Theatre and next to St. Mary's Hospital, it is a very modern addition to the Oriental restaurants in Manchester. The menu is the size of a book, featuring a wide range of both Chinese and Thai dishes ranging from the common to the exotic. You can get your chicken and cashew nuts, but you can also try chicken lips, tripe and other oddities to the Western palate.
We've been in twice and sampled a range of starters and mains from satay chicken to dim sun to spring rolls, from basic Chinese dishes to Thai noodle dishes and spicy Thai curries and an exotic-looking monkfish dish and so far everything we've tried has been absolutely superb.
The restaurant also boasts an extensive, albeit expensive, wine menu and excellent service from the staff who were attentive and friendly and were very helpful to one member of our party who is a coeliac and requires a strict gluten-free diet. They specially prepared a starter and a main course for her free from soy sauce and any other products containing gluten.
On the whole it's a marvellous addition to the city's restaurants and I'll definitely be going back.
