Good Points

Car like to drive, with comfortable seats on the SE version, and good performance helped with the 6 speed gearbox. I like the climate control, the good quality stereo, the programmable auxilliary heater

Bad Points

Recurring, niggly problems with the climate control, one touch operation of the driver's electric window (no problem with other 5 windows). Clutch failed last week, after 90000 miles over 4 years. Will be replaced at a cost of £600. Ouch! Programmable auxilliary heater (parking heater) has also had to be replaced at a cost of £700 and the wipers rack (nearly £300)
I like the general practicality of the car, it's a shame that it does not offer more storage.

General Comments

Im generally pleased with the Seat Alhambra 1.9 TDi SE people carrier, the comfort it offers and the performance and economy of the TDI 115 engine and its 6 speed gearbox. I still manage to average 550 miles over a full tank of diesel.
Build quality is also reasonable, as the car is still free of rattles after 90K miles over 4 years, although some of the interior trim had to be replaced due to the peeling of the rubber covering on some of the elements. However, I was grateful for the 3 year warranty (which I extended to 4 years at a cost of £400).
The whole climate control had to be replaced due to a recurring fault, the auxilliary heater had to be replaced, and I have always had problems with the electric window on the driver's side.
The heated sports seats are firm but very comfortable over long distances.
I still like the looks of the car, especially from the front with the alloys and darkened windows
