General Comments

Daewoo cars are reported to be reliable but not in my case. I bought the Daewoo Nexia 1.5 GLI City Car second hand for £2000, it has required a further £2,500 spending on it within 2 years even though it had an offical check before purchase.

So far repacment parts have been, new pistons and overhead gasket, "NEW engine", clutch, exhaust and side mirror (fell off in wind!). This is not to include a new paint job that is required as the paintwork is cracking for some unknown reason and the gearbox sounds dodgy.

I now know that Astra parts can fit this car which is useful as all parts need to be supplied by Daewoo which is expensive and a pain in the butt when having to wait.

It does have some redeaming fatures such as it goes (generally) and has not blown up in my face as of yet. Otherwise it looks good at first, is worth nothing after owning it for a year and is a useless junk of cheap put togther parts!

Perhaps if some of the people who drive ordinary family saloons stopped driving them as if they were Aston Martins then they would give far less trouble?
