Looks, build quality, reliability.
Could be more economical but that's about it.
We bought our Honda HRV 1.6i 4WD because, living in Scotland, we wanted the convenience of 4WD but we didn't want the year round costs involved with owning full size, full time 4x4.
We thought, briefly, about a Scenic RX4 as well but decided against the dubious reliability and build quality that the Renault comes with.
It is primarily my wife's car but I invariably find excuses to drive it simply because I love it too. It is great fun to drive. The slightly higher than a car driving position is great but there is none of the dodgy handling associated with bigger 4x4's with their balloon tyres and high centres of gravity. The HRV can be cornered almost as enthusiastically as a normal car and the V-tech engine certainly surprises other drivers as the HRV pulls away from them.I think they expect it to be slow, which it is not.The build quality is superb and reliability should not be an issue with a Honda.
I can't see us selling it anything like as quickly as we have other cars and I could certainly see us buying another. I hope Honda continue to bring it into the UK.
