Good Points

Nice looking machine
Nothing out of the ordinary can be said as a good point as I have had nothing but trouble since buying one in August 2004.


Bad Points

Customer service is NON existent from Acer

Windows XP pro with SP2 loaded.

Faults;
Booting up, fails to load the programmes and explorer, leaving a blank Travelmate screen.
Programmes freeze occasionally
System freezes and has to be shut down and restarted.
Shut down fails and all power has to be disconnected and reconnected to re-boot.


General Comments

Acer Travelmate 8000LMi bought and received a day late from Technoworld but they refunded shipping costs. However Acer customer service is non existent, they do not answer emails and do not answer the telephone. They keep you on hold for ages at 10p per minute which they make a profit from, then don't even answer the call, even after 1 hour which cost me £6 which is a total rip off. If I were you I would not buy any Acer product no matter how good it is, the back up and support is just not there.
