Hammamet Village is a brilliant place. I stayed in the hotel (le saphir) one year and in the apartments the next, (hammamet village). Food was better in the hotel, but rooms were nicer in the apartments. Maids were great, making decorations on the beds and leaving flowers most days .I left clothes in the sink soaking 1 day when I went for a meal when I returned they were on the balcony drying.

Cannot think of any bad points.
General Comments
Staff at Hammamet Village are friendly and helpful. Local shops are cheap and cheerful. Shop around as prices vary. I didn't haggle as the prices are inflated in order to come down; I shopped at places with low fixed prices. We only went into medina once and got hassled to death, its not worth the bother, the usual "come and see my brothers/uncles/fathers shop very cheap Woolworth prices" they then get you lost and you pay to find your way out. shops are just yards from the hotel and are much better, the staff don't hassle you.
The beach opposite is fairly nice, again look out for hasslers, especially kids they are hard work.
We Took a trip by taxi to the "fairy castle" layla bahia as everyone was talking about it, unbelievable, luxury beyond belief, doormen and bellboys dressed like Aladdin. not many brits There, too dear!
