Fine Woodworking - I have to agree with previous reviewers. I've been doing woodworking at various levels for the past 2 decades, and have subscribed to a variety of woodworking magazines during that time period. Fine Woodworking is the best that I've come across.
Why is it the best? Partly because every issue will inspire you to learn something new. If you read it carefully, you'll also begin to recognize the names of the authors of the articles - oftentimes they are the same experts in the field who have published the "classic" on a particular topic, be it finishing, sharpening, etc. Given that, it is easy to trust their advice and expertise when they contribute an article on the latest in [their topic].
As others have noted, this is not a book of "plans" to assemble what's pretty on the cover (although there is usually at least one of those articles); it IS a fabulous and eminently readable resource for improving your woodworking technique. If you work with wood because you love to, you will certainly enjoy this magazine.
