Good Points
Smooth power delivery; comfy riding position; good fuel economy; capable handling

Bad Points
"Soft" paint; individual looks

General Comments
The redesigned Triumph Sprint ST Tourer is a huge improvement over the original Sprint & Sprint executive, delivering a more sports-focused, but touring-friendly feel to the bike.

Power is adequate rather than exhilerating, although the odd 1st & 2nd gear acceleration wheelie can be had. Power is delivered very smoothly, although reaching the higher rev-range is a must to release the sonorous wail from the exhaust - the triple trumpet blows a song unlike any other.

The handling is great fun; the toes of my boots are worn out, as are the hero blobs, belly pan, centre stand and exhaust on mine - lean angles are high!

The bike is comfortable on a long journey, returning mid-40's to the gallon if kept around 80-90 mph. The fairing does a good job of keeping wind & rain off of both rider and passenger.

Styling is a little challenged - if you're a fan of Ridley Scott's "Alien", you'll be at home on this beastie; for those looking more for angular, cutting-edge look should maybe seek out a VFR 800.

In the 4 years I've owned mine it's had 3 rear tyres and 2 fronts, been serviced once/year (at about £200/service), still on the original chain and has never let me down. The paint is a little "delicate" - soft enough to mark quite easily, but the quality of the metal is high, with marginal rust only appearing on the rear brake hose clip and around the fork braces.

Would I buy another one? YES. Having seen the new version, being displayed at Birmingham this year, with new 5-spoke wheels, 123 BHP & triple under-seat pipes - DEFINITELY!
