Good Points

The HP 5L/6L are both very reliable and standard work-horses. Toner is rather inexpensive and usually lasts quite a long time. I usually get my toners recharged and they refill them and have them checked thoroughly. Definitely recommend this low cost, easy to operate Laser Printer.

Bad Points

As mentioned earlier in another review, the paper seems to want to bunch up and pass through when at low stack levels. Keep paper levels high and keep a good eye on them. This printer has options for either 300dpi or 600 dpi print jobs.

General Comments

The HP 5L is a great, inexpensive printer with one common flaw, paper jam. I have owned 3 of them now and wouldn't hesistate to recommend them to any readers out there if they can get them for a good price. Cost of ownership is fairly inexpensive, just get a high yield toner and you're set.

The HP LaserJet 5L is a great low cost laser printer. The paper jam issue was very frustrating. For $10 I bought a paper jam kit from feedroller.com and it fixed the problem! I added 4MB of memory (for $9.50) and my 7 year old printer is better than new. I really appreciate it on those rare occasions when I need to buy a new toner cartridge. They can be found for less that $40 and print thousands of pages.
