Bad Points

Decidely average low light performance, zero shift

General Comments

I purchased Simmons whitetail classic 3-5-10-50 a few years ago and immediately started getting larger group sizes. Turned out to have zero drift whenever the magnification was changed. Low light ability was nothing special at all - poor compared to middle of the road Tascos in my collection (and horrendous compared to my Doctor Optic).
Dealer sent it back to be looked at and then I was accused by the distributor of causing damage to the scope by tightening the scope mounts to much! When threatened to go to small claims court I was refunded.

I bought one of these for my 22-250 and could not zero it in. At 25 yards you would zero in and it looked ok. Move the target out to 70 or 100 yards and the rifle was shooting 6-8 inches to the right on the forst shot and 2 inches to left on the second, the third was somewhere different again. We tested this with at least 30 rounds in a few hours but could not get a grouping at all. The rifle was a Sako 75 and was new. I got a lend of a zeiss scope and it was perfect after a few shots.

I think you must live on a different planet to any one i know because the whitetail is one of the best built scopes in the world and the the zero you get from the whitetail is fantastic and so are the optics. All i can think of is that your rifle is not accurate or you can not mount scopes correctly.
