Good Points

The ink is very inexpensive compared to other brands of printers.


Bad Points

I have not found where the cartridge holder is readily available and it is slow printing.


General Comments

I bought my S200 from Sams with a scanner for $70 a year and a half ago. I use after market ink which costs $2.50 for black and $3.50 for color.

I did a lot of printing with it and if the truth was known I saved enough on the cartridges compared to other printers to pay for two new canons. It started leaving lines and I tried self clean alignment and finally set my driver to best quality to print readable material.

I think the problem is in the holder that holds the cartridges because the electricity and nozzles are contained in it where on most other brands they are incorporated into the cartridge and thrown away when the cartridge is replaced. I tried cleaning this holder with alcohol and a toothbrush and did get better quality for a short time.

This holder will lift out when the cartridges are released and could easily be replaced if replacement could be found.

I will probably buy another Canon for the cost of print but may go to a model that has a cleaning cartridge available for it.
