General Comments

Beware! I had owned my camera for just over a year when the zoom began to malfunction. It would not retract when switched off, then the camera would display "System Error". I managed to take a few photos before it refused to take any more - not good when you have no back up camera on holiday! I returned to Jessops feeling very annoyed. The warranty had expired but I did not expect a Nikon camera to be so unreliable. I was informed it would cost £124 to fix the camera - I complained. I was then informed they would charge £62 - I still complained. My persistance paid off as the camera is now to be repaired and returned to me free of charge. The whole affair has taken over three months to sort out - in the meantime I have bought a new Fugi Finepix F700 which I am extremely happy with. The repaired camera will now be used by a relative starting out in the world of digital photography - I certainly wouldn't recommend it for anyone other than a complete novice!
