General Comments

Joan Ryan, Little Girls in Pretty Boxes: The Making and Breaking of Elite Gymnasts and Figure Skaters - I read this book years ago, and feel that it only portrays one side of the sport. Being a former competitive gymnast, I can agree that some coaches are like that. My coach may have taken it a little far, however, I learned a great deal about team work, dedication, determination, and passion. (Passion that I have yet to find in any other sport.) I have taken those lessons that I learned years ago, and am now applying them to my career in the Air Force.
