Top-notch physics and handling of the car. Great damage model. Good, clear user interface. More car tuning than you could possibly want. Convincing environment graphics. Powerful sound. Gradual learning curve, and the game takes a long time to master. Excellent rally school section.
Car graphics in replay are not that good (no light/shadow interaction with environment).
Holy cow, is rally driving really this difficult???
Richard Burns Rally is simply THE rally simulation for the PC at this moment. All other rally 'sims' are just arcade racers. At last, a game in which the car really has mass and inertia. The grip on different surfaces is very well modelled, separately for each wheel. Force feedback on a steering wheel is excellent.
If you're a racing sim fan, this game is mandatory. Buy a steering wheel though, because keyboard, joystick or anything else doesn't do the sim justice.
