Good Points

The Rover 75 is a fantastic car, with the added luxury of the diesel version having a BMW engine! People are amazed when I tell them it's a diesel as it certainly doesn't sound like one. The high spec in the Connoisseur is a joy, with alloys, full leather, trip computer, cd autochanger, and even has an electric sun blind which you can play with whilst stuck in traffic! :)
It's never a chore to drive this car, it drives and feels like you are driving something altogether more expensive, well put together with nothing dropped off it yet. Returns around 37mpg in town, and believe it or believe it not have had it returning 55mpg if not thrashed on the motorway. I am in love with this car as I was the first day I set eyes on it!!

Bad Points

Diesel a bit slow to get going from a standing start but mpg return outweighs this.
A bit cramped in the back, but hey, what the heck, I'm up front!!

General Comments

This Rover 75 2.0 CDT Connoisseur SE 5dr Auto Family Car is recommended for anyone with aspirations of owning a Bentley but who hasn't got the money. Well......... not quite, but thats how it feels.

Dave ought to have written the brochure, he's spot on! Just wish I'd got the satnav option.......

I have a lesser version of the 75 CDT, whatever is sold in Germany - even so the feeling is great. The design (after the F5 of the 60s ??) and British interior are unique - this is what we bought the car for.
The BMW diesel is the next great idea - I find the acceleration pretty good, for a 1.5 t body. Mileage is good too, though my best is 5.8 l/100 kmm.
The car is a bit crammed for it's size: space above the pedals, leg room nav seat, back seats.
Seats are poor for a 6 ft 2 guy - compared with MG 75 or BMW 5 or even Mondeo ones and you will see what I mean.
Gear shift is average (my wife's VW Polo switches like a dream).
The black plastic strips at the thresholds fell off.
After only 8 months it's great.
