General Comments

Will not be going back to the Bel Azur or in fact Tunisia full stop. Do not go during august 15-22 as it becomes swooned upon by neighbouring Algerians and also Tunisians to holiday themselves. I mention this as this meant it became overrun by a lot of youngsters 13-17 with no family with them it seemed. Pool is not my thing but if it was you couldn't see it as again the youngsters made it a youth club. Beach was very nice and a choice of eating on there or on a loftier position meant you could stay on their all day. Watersports and paragliding was cheap if not a little dangerous with the paragliders landing on the beach about 10ft from some bathers.
Food in restaurant ok but you did seem herded in and rushed at times, the restaurant also held about 250 people which meant you did feel like cattle. Rooms were small but air-con was good.
Hammamet town 15mins walk away could be very hairy, lot going on and you need to be aware of your bearings as you can easily get lost in the medina which was a warren of shops where you could get sucked into by many a determined salesman. I worked out sunglasses on and walk right through them normally worked and just dragged my girlfriend along, fun.
Food on the seafront was typically greasy spoon variety so steer clear; you must go to 'au anchor' restaurant, best seafood ever which is as you walk into town.
Go to Nabeul, well known for pottery.
