Very good coverage - even in-buildings. From experience I have found that although BTCellnet occasionally has coverage where Vodafone doesn't - that Vodafone usually has a stronger signal than BTCellnet. BTC was often poor in buildings. Carry over minutes - Vodafone 50 has cheaper peak call rates than BTC. Cheap SIM only deals are to be had with unlocked GSM 900 phones.
Bad Points
Occasional network busy. Costly itemised billing. Very expensive when calling other networks.
General Comments
I have been with One2One, Vodafone and BTCellnet. One2One was very cheap - however coverage was abysmal. BTCellnet was generally good coverage - but poorer in-buildings.
I have been with Vodafone for 2.5 years now - and plan to stay with them whilst SIM only deals continue. You rarely get something for nothing with them.
I would reccomend them. I would make use of the 14 day money back guarantee - to check for coverage and frequency of network busy in your area. Also if you are going to make many mobile to mobile calls try to find out what your friends mobile networks are. 50p a minute peak rate mobile to other network mobile is extortion. Other networks also charge these ridiculous charges.
