General Comments
I use Heathrow regularly flying from Dublin and Shannon. Usually quite quick, getting baggage within 10-15 minutes of landing.
Occasionally there have been stacking delays but 20 minutes at the most.
No problems with customs on Irish flights -straight through.
Transport is good - Heathrow express takes 15 mins to Paddington station and costs £13 one way or £25 return for a standard fare ( 1st class £21 &£40, but why you'd need first class for a fifteen min journey is beyond me). trains leave every 15 mins.
If you're not in a rush the tube is a much cheaper alternative costing £3.80 one way and £7.60 return. but it takes about 50 mins into Piccadilly circus.
Transferring between Terminals 1 2 and 3 is aided by moving walkways so it takes ten mins 1-2 and the same to terminal 3.
Food is as in most airports too expensive and the range in each particular terminal is not spectacular.
Terminal 4 is a long distance away but the Heathrow express is free between terminals.

Hi -- thanks for the info about Heathrow. I am flying from Seattle to Dublin on British Air. Evidently many of these flights require a bus transfer between Heathrow and Gatwick (in other words, the flight to Dublin is from Gatwick, thus the need for the bus transfer.)
My question is: have you ever done this bus transfer? Is it comfortable, easy to handle (especially after 12 hours travelling)? Any other information that you think could be helpful to this trip?
Thanks much for any advice you can provide.
