General Comments

I have a 2002 Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec family car, when choosing a new car there was only this and the peugeot 307 that interested me. I was put off the 307 due to several reports saying how poor the build quality of the 307 was with several sources saying that things just drop off.

I learnt to drive in a focus so i knew how easy it was to drive. That focus was the 1.6 zetec, I opted for the 1.8 zetec, people informed me you wouldn't notice the difference but believe me you do.

Although not lightning quick it still has the pace to take on most cars. and will perform better than most cars in the class. It sits confortably on the road with the ride quality being as good as you'll get from a car in this sector. The handling is superb and in terms of driving you'll struggle to find a car that you'll like more. The sports suspension you get on the zetec models means you can take an unexpected corner at speed and the car will just stick to the road. It fills you with confidence everytime you drive it.

Although the focus is 6 years old and a new shape is due out soon, the car still attracts glances from people and even many of my younger friends love the look of it. Its styling is still being copied but in my opinion still not bettered.

The interior is spacious especially the front, the high roofline means taller people should have no problems, the drivers seat and steering wheel have multiple adjustments so getting confortable could not be easier. The driving position is amazing and the dash layout makes finding all the right buttons easy.

I would highly reccomend this car, especially with some of the quality used car bargains that you can find. Its a car that makes you love to drive and everytime you climb aboard you cant help but feel pleased. If theres a better family car i want to see it.
