General Comments

After my contract period was over I called to cancel it and they said I should do this in writing which I did. I called again to confirm and they then told me it wasn't neccessary for a letter and that I should call back the end of the month(Aug)when I will be able to cancel. I did and then they told me to wait until the 10th of Sept (who knows why) when they can finally give me my PUK no. to transfer to Pay-as-you-go. When I phoned on the 10th they told me they were unable to give the PUK because my account is not active anymore and had to be active which meant I had to re-activate for a fee. I did, and now I am told to pay extra money to get my PUK no. This has been going on for 2 months and I don't know what to do. They belong in jail!

A PUK code is used to unblock a barred sim, nothing to do with transferring to PAYG, you called a company whos terms and conditions clearly state that written notice is required to end the account, then complain when they do end your account without taking this required notice from you in writing? no PAC code is required to transfer to payt and think at somepoint you and some advisors have had some wires crossed, asking you to pay for a reconnection was perhaps a tad harsh though as this is commonly done free of charge to resolve issues such as this.

Sorry, I meant PAC all the way through.
They wanted cancellation in writing, which I did, and was then told it’s worthless, by them. I called to cancel on a specific date, as advised by them, and was told to reactivate for a fee and another fee for getting my PAC code.
Anyway, I finally managed to break free and haven’t regretted it since.

A PAC code is required to go to payt but it is FOC to the customer as you would be stopping on the same network service.
Has this issue now been resolved?

The pac code should come out to you in a letter form and normally takes 3 working days to arrive. The PAC code is then valid for 30 days, so you can shop around and get the best deal with payt.

Why are you defending Singlepoint? They get about 10x more complaints about them than any other provider on this web site, not to mention their bad rating. Get real.

Not really trying to defend singlepoint, trying to make people realise that up until the end of 2003 it was owned by a different company and that huge changes have happened since we split from Caudwell at the moment there is currently a training course underway to the cost of aprox. £500,000 for customer service excellence, and TRIM scores are widely available on the internet and we don't get in as many complaints as people think, we currently have over 2 million customers the number of people who complain here are less than 1% of this figure just unfortunate that if you have a bad service you will complain but no one mentions good services.
