Good Points
Battleship build quality, looks beautiful, excellent remote, very well featured, rich full warm sound.

Bad Points
High frequences roll off a little early.

General Comments
I have owned a Yamaha CDX870 cd player for about 2 yrs - sold it & then a year later bought one second hand as I couldn't find anything with quite the same sound. The stereo separation is perfect, bass is deep & fast yet remains very warm & lush. Midrange is again warm & rich - rather than cold & thin. The treble is beautiful - if not out & out thrills. The player has felt mat on the CD draw, gold terminals - including head phone socket which has a remote motorised volume control, display dimmer & all the spec of a top of the range machine. superb quality construction! recommended for an anologue type sound quality.
