Picks up speed rapidly
All kinds of safety features keep falling apart on you and always when you are making a long drive somewhere. We have had the seat belt buckle of the driver seat failed after one year and it took Honda over a week to repair after some yelling. The shock went in less than a year and we almost lost control of the car when it hit a pot hole. Although Honda was aware of the problem, they never did a recall. Our gas gauge went to empty while we were driving overnight on vacation when the tank was full twice, leaving us to think that there was a hole in our tank. It seems also that when you take your car out of the garage and something goes wrong with your tires, Honda is not responsbile and will not do anything about it.
If you have bought the extended warranty and need to call the toll free number for information, forget it. Be prepared to be transfer several times because no one is responsible and Honda's people do not even let you finish your sentence before transferring you. You find all kinds of exemption.
We bought the Honda Civic Coupe LX 2002 family car for its reliability reputation and found it to be completely unreliable. All kinds of things have failed in the car from drivers's seat belt buckle, shock (in less than 24000 km and although Honda was aware of the problem failed to do any kind of recall), gas gauge going all over the place leaving you to think that you have pierced the gas tank. Every time we have taken this car on a long trip, we have had problems. On top of it all, when you bring the car into the garage to repair, they tell you to come back in two weeks because they are too busy. The extended warranty is only there to create more frustrations. This will be the first and last Honda car we will ever buy.
