General Comments
Singlepoint (4U) Ltd - I've haerd so many negative reviews of Singlepoint I thought it was about time I wrote my experiences with them.
I joined Singlepoint almost 18 months ago and found the sales staff to be extremely helpful, the man in my local store spent at least an hour with me discussing my best options and price plans, eventually signing me up with Anytime 30 and 100 free texts, with a free Nokia 7250 which had only just come out at the time.
I got home and found there was a fault on the phone and phoned them up, their response was they were extremely sorry and that I could pop down and pick up a replacement or they would have one sent out next day delivery for me. I had to pop into town anyway so I went and swapped it over. To say sorry they gave me a free leather case and in-car charger kit "for my inconvenience."
Many many months later my phone had an incident and suffered a pretty mighty fall (unlike the daily dropping it, or it falling out of my bag it went through) this involved me stupidly placing it on the banisters of my 3 story house and accidentally knocking it off with my bag! It landed on the ground floor, in turn killing the battery. I didn't have phone insurance, but I went back to my Phones 4 U store and explained I'd dropped it and it kept turning itself off now, expecting them to say HARD LUCK! But instead they gave me a new battery on the spot FOR FREE, and said that if that didn't fix it, they would send my phone away to be fixed, or I could take it to the Nokia repair centre for a free repair.
Ok so 2 years later, I'm bored of the phone and I have decided to buy a new one. Having shopped around a lot I decided I liked the new Nokia 6230. I went into all 12 phone shops in my local town and the best they could offer me was the phone free if I went on Anytime 600 (which is over £50 a month and way above my student budget) or on Anytime 100 the phone was between £70-100 depending on the store.
I eventually found an online deal with Vodafone offering me 100 mins 50 texts for £15 a month and the phone for £30 on one of their special weekly discount offers.
I phoned up Singlepoint direct and told them I was looking to either upgrade or cancel my contract, as I'd seen a new phone I liked cheaper elsewhere.
The man on the phone's response was that if I wanted to cancel my contract that was fine, and all I required was 4 weeks notice, or I could have the Nokia 6230 for free, with 3 months free line rental 100 min and 100 texts a month for £16 a month. And it will be delivered free on Wednesday morning!!!!! (after a little haggling I must add).
I have always found Ssinglepoint polite and extremely helpful, and am very surprised at how many negative reviews I've read. I have never found the staff unhelpful, I've always got through to them by phone straightaway without being put on hold, they have always beaten any phone offer I've found anywhere else.
