Good Points
1) All staff at all levels seem to work exceptionally hard all the time and do a fantastic job. Everyone says hello, good morning, or good evening and seem to be genuinely friendly.
2) Food available around the clock - and after 1 a.m. an all night menu that included a daily curry
Bad Points
1) For passengers not taking the excursions the RETURN transport arrangements from the towns were sometimes pretty poor - lots of waiting and then a bit of a scrum to get on the coach
2) One of the main features of cruising is the evening entertainment and the Thonson Spirti team did a great job in the shows, unfortunately passengers were allowed to sit through the shows twice so if you wanted to watch the second show you always had difficulty getting a decent seat.
General Comments
Overall Spirit is a really friendly ship with good entertainment and some excellent ports of call (Can recommend at Naples for 22 euro return Ferry trip to Capri - In La Spezzia try the local railway card running to the 5 villages in the rocks called Cinque Terre - about 5 euros per person + For those having Sete on the itinerary I recommend you stay onboard - the place was littered with dog droppings everywhere - the French must love their dogs but they haven't heard of pooperscooping)
We had one deluxe cabin and one standard outside cabin - overall there was very little difference between the two and I wouldn't recommend the upgrade to deluxe - the cost difference isn't worth it
Overall a great holiday though
