Good Points

My husband and I spent two weeks at RDC two years ago and are planning a trip again in November 2004. We had a wonderful time last time and know we will again. In reading some of the more negative reviews, I have noticed the "brown water" syndrome seems to appear in the summer months. We always go in the winter.I have also noticed the negative reviews in general appear to come from Americans. Maybe us Canadians have lower expectations or just appreciate warm weather, good company and good food more. I am really looking forward to our trip. We found our room overlooking the adult pool sparse but very clean, the staff very friendly and the food great! I particularly enjoyed eating at the restaurants down by the water because some nights they had entertainment you could watch and listen to as you dined. Other resorts we have gone to did not have this. Also the open-air theatre was great, our last night there they had a singer from Puerto Vallarta who was EXCELLENT.


Bad Points

The towel thing can get a bit tiresome, but heh, I don't have to wash them and stack them, so getting up in time to get a fresh towel is no biggy. We went to a resort in the caribbean once where we never did get a towel to use, they were always out. Just shrug your shoulders and enjoy everything else or bring your own.


General Comments

Royal Decameron Complex: I would say all in all for the money we paid, you couldn't find better value. The beach is fantastic, you can walk for ever, Bucerias is fun to walk through and getting to Puerto Vallarta by bus is an adventure. We felt totally safe at RDC. If you want non stop fussing over you, pay more and go to a five star American style hotel. If you want to experience a taste of Mexico and like to do your own thing, come here and ENJOY!

    I wish you luck....we just returned from the Royal Decameron and from what I hear a lot has changed! Be prepared for no service and bad food.
