General Comments

We stayed in La Faute Sur Mer with Atlantic Locations. On arrival we realised that the brochure was not very accurate at all. The apartments were cramped and built on top of one another. Our apartment was also dirty on arrival, finger nail clippings on the bed side table, beer bottles under the bed, the toilet was disgusting. We immediately sent out for a cleaner and had the toilet cleansed but after finding numerous other dirty parts of the duplex apartment, we decided to spring clean the whole place. The Garden was full of weeds in the beds and no grass on the lawn. We had a two year old who we could not allow to play in the garden. A barbecue was advertised but this was just a rusty old thing that you would not prepare food anywhere near. There was also a table, chairs and an umbrella which we had been asked to take special care off. The umbrella was ripped and stained..... when they said take care of... did they mean dispose off? The apartment was supposed to fit 4 but they did not tell us that when we booked as a family of five and a cot, there was only enough cutlery for 3 anyway. The whole complex was also littered with dogs mess. The swimming pool was not a user friendly place. No chairs, no drinks, no shoes allowed. We had an elderly couple next to us and they could not go to the pool as there was only the hard concrete to sit on as no chairs were allowed. The town itself was hardly French.... most restaurants serving Pizza and Pasta which got very boring. The overall quality was not good. We had just had a week further inland in a Gite which was beautiful and very FRENCH...... my wife was almost in tears after being in La Faute Sur Mer for 5 minutes. I would not recommend this resort to anyone; France is a big country....look elsewhere.
