Friendly, helpful and expert advice. Treated with respect. Easy to extend overdraft limit
Bad Points
none- but if I had to say anything- cheques take five working days to clear.
General Comments
I had banked with Lloyds TSB for about 6-7 years and when I became a student I had no problems whatsoever of changing my cyrrent account to a student account. They only required my Ucas confirmation, or alternatively a letter from the University to open the account which was a simple and straight forward procedure.
During my first year, I ran into financial difficulty and the staff at Lloyds were only to happy to help. Although they do not deal with the student accounts in the branch itself- (I was required to call a helpline for assistance) the staff let me use one of their own phones in a quiet office to get in touch. There was no delays in speaking to someone and once I explained that I needed an extension on my overdraf- they kindly agreed an extra £250 on top of what I had already used which was £1000 ( which is the maximum limit for year one). In my second year- immediately they extended my overdraft to £1400 (the maximum for year 2 is £1250). I have found them very helpful- and they are always willing to provide help and assistance whenever I need it. I have always felt respected and a valued customer.
When I first opened the account i was given a discount coach card- (3 year) and many other benefits, as well as a Student credit card (£1000 limit) I can honestly say that I will be with Lloyds for years to come. If you want loyalty from a bank that you have been with for years then I definately recommend Lloyds.
