Good Points

Goes well for a 1.4, engine produces good torque, unlike other multivalves of the same class.
Economical. Comfortable. Cheap to maintain.
Handles well.


Bad Points

Buttons fell off the standard radio.
Most of the dealers are hopeless, good job I'm a mechanic.


General Comments

This Fiat Brava 1.4SX family car has been a great investment. It does everything I need in a daily drive and more.
The 1.4 engine is based on the old Aurelio Lampredi single cam motor. He was Ferrari's chief engine designer and it shows.
Like all modern engines it needs to be run on good quality oil and you can't afford to skip the oil changes but the engine has been bulletproof.
It's needed wear and tear items like any other car, exhaust, brake pads, tyres. All reasonably priced.
It survived an attack by some prat in a Vecra pretty well, with panel damage to the side but no structural damage. Tough car.
Superior in every way to any of the cars in the same class that I have driven and maintained.

    i have just bought a brava about 2 hours ago and driving it home the temperature of the car was sky high and there was a rattling under the bonnet. Once i got the car home and got it on the drive the engine was smoking and then the car would not start again. the radiator was cold but the engine was red hot. do you know what the problem could be please help.!!!
