General Comments

Bought my 853 Avanti from Airgun Express for $180. The order arrived in about 5 days. At that price one cannot expect perfection or the highest quality construction. Some of the plastic such as the butt plate extensions detract from what otherwise looks like a real, quality firearm. I'm 5 ft 8 inches tall and used two of the 3 butt plate extensions for a comfortable fit.

The plastic peep sight is very functional and I got it zeroed at 10 meters in just a few shots. It's a precise sight in that each click at 10 meters is about .04 inch. The front sight is somewhat cheap looking but also functional. Very easy to change the front sight disks.
Trigger is spongy but light and predictable. It is better than I expected and think it adequate but not great.
Accuracy is excellent. At 10 meters a tiny one hole group is easy when rested and sometimes achieved shooting off hand. The feel and balance are good and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I plan to improve my offhand shooting skills with this rifle and with its low noise and moderate velocity, find it an outstanding in-house gun.
