Good Points

NONE AT ALL.

Bad Points

MOIRE, SCREEN REGULATION TOO POOR FOR A MONITOR OF ITS CATEGORY,COLOUR PURITY VERY UNACCEPTABLE WITH PINKISH PATCHES ALL OVER THE SCREEN

General Comments

UNLIKE ITS PREDECESSOR, THE TRUSTED 750S, THE SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 753S MONITOR SUFFERS FROM UMPTEEN DEFECTS - HORIZONTAL SCREEN EXPANSION - YES THE SCREEN ACTUALLY EXPANDS HORIZONTALLY IN JUST UNDER AN HOUR OF USE, EXCESSIVE MOIRE ESPECIALLY AT 800 * 600 RESOLUTION (THOUGH NOT SO AT 1024 * 768).
POOR SERVICE AND WORKMANSHIP - SAMSUNG'S NEHRU PLACE(DELHI) SERVICE CENTER HAD NO CLUE AS TO THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAD TO BE INSTRUCTED BY THEIR BOSSES IN KOREA TO RECTIFY IT- EVEN THEN ONLY THE SEVERITY OF THE PROBLEM DECREASED.
Don't GET ME WRONG - I'M NOT AGAINST SAMSUNG, INFACT THEIR HARD-DRIVES ARE NOW BETTER AND MORE RELIABLE THAN SEAGATE HARD-DISKS.
SAME FOR THEIR CONSUMER ELECTRONICS PRODUCTS.
BUT BE WARNED THOUGH, SAMSUNG MONITORS AND OTHER IT PRODUCTS, MADE IN INDIAN FACTORIES, HAVE A VERY HIGH FAILURE AND MALFUNCTION RATE. (HARD-DISKS AND OTHER SUCH STUFF IS MANUFACTURED IN KOREA - FOR GOOD REASON).
(THE 750S WAS NEVER FULLY MANUFACTURED IN INDIA)
GO FOR THE LG FLATRON 795+/775+ - IT'S PRICEY BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

well my friend is not fully right about the syncmaster 753s as product works fine and
infact it is good ...the problem may be in his AGP card or some driver problem....but i agree with him on the point of customer care ...but it is up to indian standards....not bad at all ...
    i will recommend this product...

    Neo,
I bought this monitor when it was a week old in the market and so did two of my friends - we all faced the same problems to some extent- as for agp card and drivers I have GF 4 Ti 4200 from ASUS and detonator 43.51 - don't say anything. The recent lot of monitors may no longer be facing the same problems-monitors are much like automobiles in that respect - and some credit would go to harried users like me who made the idiots at Nehru Place aware of the problem!

I decided to purchase the samsung 753s monitor at the end of its production life. So i bought 3 of them for a bargain price. One of them has the problem of tilting horizontaly after about 5 hours of use in 1024 x 768 with a low refresh rate and then after about 12 hours the whole screen suddently will go pink and green with a wave effect.(degauss fixes this) BUT the other two monitors have been great monitors leave them on for days on end without fault. So i think their problem would have soemthing to do with the people on the production line.

Some nice person probably dropped it while in shipping.
The only thing atm that is playing up with mine is it goes pink after the power save has been on for a while and you wake it up. I just degauss it. Your problem sound different tho. Take it back to the supplier. Its either the plug (move the vga cable around and see if it stops it (monitor and box)). if not the ray gun thingy in the actual monitor has been damaged in production or shipping. had a monitor years ago that went blue flickery lines all the time it was one of the ray guns. return it>
what refresh rate is it running at ?

Even I am facing the same problem with my 753s samsung monitor. It goes pink frequently.Degaussing doesn't help. Some mild shaking is required to restore the monitor to normal condition.
Please,do post what is the current status of your monitor after servicing. And can I do something myself to make it work, without going for the servicing? thanks.

I have not noticed any other defects apart from hissing sound. I have had the 753s syncmaster for just over 4 months. The hissing will drive you crazy if you are anything like me.

It seems to have other defects that i have not experienced so if you are thinking of buying this monitor give it a long hard think as to whether or not you think it is worth the risk.

Hi, I have had the 19 inch version of the samsung syncmaster 753s. Touch wood the monitor has been fine except for when you switch the monitor off and leave it for a very long time and then switch it back on it very rarely comes up multicoloured. switch it off and on it is sorted. I think it is something to do with how tight you install the svga connector to the graphics card. Because its very rare it happens and usually when i have just had the pc appart.

What do you think? past the warranty now but hasn't been bad. when the monitor is on, no problems up to now touch wood.

what do you think, thanks dan.
