Where do we start?
Just come back from a week at the Yasmine Beach Hotel hotel. We have (now) read reviews about this hotel here and on other sites and wished we had read them before we went. Our week was a nightmare.
The other reviews only touch on the surface but we are compelled to let you know.
Firstly it is a long old transfer to this hotel (it took us an hour and a half).
When we got there, there were no porters to help with the luggage, it was late at night and we could not even get a drink of water. The rooms were similar to that of a 2 star (it's meant to be 4 or 5 star according to who you book with) with plug sockets hanging of the wall and we had to navigate through pitch black corridors to find our room in the first place.
Got up early for breakfast and discovered that this was inedible so settled for a coffee and a glass of orange juice (the later of which we had to pay for). Went to reception to complain and were told that is standard Tunisian cuisine which is rubbish as we go out to Tunisia every year.
Lunch and dinner was no better and the way that some of the chefs handle the food allows you to understand why many off the guest's were getting food poisoning.
Decided we will endure until the rep comes in and went to the bar for a drink, I had a glass of wine which was undrinkable and my husband was actually sick after taking a gulp of the beer (believe me he is use to drinking different good and bad beers).
We asked if there was any other drinks we could have and were told not unless "you pay for them" (hang on, this is meant to be all inclusive).
THE REPappeared and there were about fifteen people who like us wanted to complain or move but were told that as it was the busy season there was nothing available. Some of us called our travel agents in the UK and were told "we haven't had any problems during the past and it is down to the local rep to sort it out"
We have since found out by contacting other people that these problems have been going on since the beginning of the season.
To say any more would only be repeating what other reviewers, have said here and elsewhere but, suffice to say it is the worst holiday we have ever had and we were just glad that we did not bring the kids with us as there was no entertainment for them and none for us as English speaking customers.
We are complaining to ABTA about this as our travel agent is just fobbing us off.
Take our advice, don't go to this hotel.
