Good Points

Clarity, transparency, good bass depth without an accompanying 'boom' (providing you site them carefully)

Bad Points

Better in big rooms than small ones

General Comments

I won't waste my time repeating all the praise that has been heaped on these speakers by their numerous reviewers. I'll just say that I agree with all the positive comments made. I will add, though, that these speakers may not be for you if you only have a small room. To get the best from them, each speaker needs to be around two feet from any side walls, at least 18 inches from a rear wall, ideally 8-10 feet apart to make the best of their superb imaging capabilities, with your seating-position around 10 feet in front of them at the apex of the 'triangle'. No toeing in is necessary. That means they should occupy a wall ideally 14 feet wide or more, with them firing down a room ideally just as long or longer. This alienates owners of many small modern properties/flats, who will find they're be better off with smaller stand-mount offerings. But for those who have the space, these speakers cannot be bettered at the price.

Whilst a large room may be best for these speakers, I have mine (the latest version M73i) set up in a room measuring approx 10 x 10 feet. I have been able to get a fairly good balance with them purely by experimenting with small changes in placement and using the supplied foam bung in the bass port. I have been able to leave the tone controls on my amp in the flat position.
