Extremely powerful and very accurate
Bad Points
Recoil makes holding stance very important in order to shoot accurately. A bit heavy for small framed people I'm sure. Being 5'10" and 180lbs, it's not bad at all except for un-supported standing shooting positions.
General Comments
Faced with almost a dozen chipmunks taking over my back yard, I wanted something to rid myself of them without attracting attention. A .22 LR would be perfect if I lived in the country, but in a suburban area, that wouldn't work.
After purchasing a TF97 .177 a couple months ago, I was floored at how accurate an air rifle could be. I was shooting 1" groups at about 10 yards with the TF97 and knew that I needed greater accuracy than that for my task. After much research I stumbled upon this forum and read up on the B21/22 and decided to purchase the B22 (.22 version). After getting it sighted in with the 4x32 scope from Fun Supply and their one-piece scope mount (very sweet!) I was shooting quarter sized groups at almost 30 yards consistently. Any misses (I'm confident) are my fault as I'm just getting a handle on hold techniques with this rifle. Considering it's significant recoil, you can't use traditional sight-in techniques with a hard bench rest because the kick literally picks the front-end of the rifle up off the front rest and the shots go high and to the left every time. I'm still working on my holding, and I'm hitting more accurately every time I shoot. Seems like I need to hold the rifle tight to my shoulder and grip the front of the stock and keep it held down so that the recoil is only front-to-back.
I haven't taken the rifle apart yet, but have removed the stocks screws and Loc-Tited all off then (with blue) and also performed the same prep for the scope mount screws. The only piece that's consistently come loose is the little screw that holds the cocking lever linkage to the piston chamber cylinder. There is a tiny metric hex headed screw that needs to be tightened once in awhile, but it's so close to the exhaust port seal that I am reluctant to use Loc-Tite on it. Not a bit deal, only comes loose after 100 to 200 or so rounds, I just tighten it as needed.
No dieseling on mine at all, right out of the box. It punches through 3/4 pine (even with Crow-Mags! - haven't tried plywood yet) and sinks almost to the skirt into 3/4 MDF board which is pretty impressive. I don't shoot anything other than Crow Magnum .22 in mine as the accuracy is just where I need it and I like the long-range impact results with the Crow-Mags. I'd buy this gun again in a heart-beat and will recommend it to anyone, I love it!
