We were fortunate to stay at The Albatroz Hotel, Cascais, for one week during Euro 2004 in June.
We found the hotel, one of the best hotels we are ever likely to stay in. Absolutely everything about the hotel was first class! The accommodation, food, amenities, and above all the friendly, helpful staff!!
The Hotel is situated just 25km from Lisbon, with a rail station just 100 metres or so. Not only was it cheap rail travel, just 2.60 Euro return, from Cascais to Lisbon, it was one of the most scenic routes you can imagine, going right along the coastline.
All in all it was fantastic hotel, if a little expensive, we have never gone back to the same place twice, ever, But we are making an exception in 2005, and are returning to The Albatroz, next September, and can't wait!"
