General Comments

EXTERIOR: The Maytag fridge on impression looks stylish with the stainless french doors and bottom mount freezer. However, after seeing several model of its kind on different store on display and asking the salesman, they disclosed that french door models have a design flaw. (When you close the left door fast, it will cause the left door to be pushed forward and then remain open) A door alarm would compromise for this.

POWER CONSUMPTION: Excellent being one of the lowest, if not the lowest energy consuming refrigerator in its class. (Bottom mount are the most energy efficient model compared to side to side and other styles).

INTERIOR: There is a room for a 4 gallon containers, large pizza, and 2 fruits and vegetable bin . However, if you have big containers for food e.g. tall container, pots, casserole, it will be crowdy. The icemaker produce little ice. According to the salesman, it must produce 5-8 halfmoon ice every 1- 1.5 hr. But after 2 weeks, the roughly 6x6x4 inch ice bin is not filled up. I talked to them about the fault, they said its the water pressure. Realizing that there is still high flow of water coming out of the internal water dispenser, means that water is sufficient. One needs to bend to get ice in the bottom freezer. So if you have back pains, Old folks in the house and little children who can pull the drawer, then I strongly discourage to buy it. (If your family is not in this list, then you can buy it. However, you have to replace it in time, when you develop back pain using it. The internal water dispenser button is hard to press. So if your going to fill up a cup, it's a breeze. But if you have or a family member have arthritis or develop it in the future, then I strongly discourage to buy it.

POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Of course, when you see the product on display, you won't discover the fault. The real hazard comes when you have it at home and recently discovered the flaw. So after 1 week of use, the faults I mention arises, we called the home improvement store where we bought the product.(That store sell's it for $1799 which is the cheapest compared to other stores; but cheap price also means cheap support!!!) They passed us to Maytag Customer Service which they explained that "All Maytag Appliance have no Customer Satisfaction Guarantee." So having to impart this experience caused me lots of disappointment and anguish. That pain is reminded everytime we go to the kitchen. We previously have Maytag products and have no problem. The tension arise when there is a fault in the product and you want it replaced. SO BUYERS BEWARE!!! Ask always for return policy. Be cautious when the price are cheap...it has a draw back... cheap service!!!
